Did you know why to put different oils in and on the belly button?

Our Navel (Nabhi), is an amazing gift that our Creator has given us. According to science, the first part created after conception is the navel. After it is created, it joins the mother’s placenta through the umbilical cord.
Our Navel is surely an amazing thing! All our veins are connected to our navel, which makes it the focal point of our body. The belly button is life itself!
The “Pechoti” is behind the navel, which has more than 72,000 veins. The total amount of blood vessels we have in our body is equal to double the circumference of the earth.

We knew that to lower the temperature to the babies, we put a cotton swab with alcohol in the navel, now we know that with oil, it’s better.
Applying oil in the navel heals the dryness of the eyes, poor view, the pancreas, the heels, and chapped lips, keeps the face bright, the hair healthier, for knee pain, the chills, lethargy, pain in the joints and dry skin.
(Please apply oil elsewhere before applying to navel as in cinnamon, as applying it neat can burn … adding a base oil is a good idea)

Apply Neem Oil in your belly button – to get rid of stubborn pimples and acne

Apply Almond Oil in your belly button – to help achieve a glowing face

Apply Mustard Oil in your belly button – to get rid of dry, chapped lips. Will also keep your intestines moving to remove
harmful bacteria but keep the good. Actually works as a mild detox.

Keep alcohol dipped cotton on your belly button – to cure a cold, flu and a running nose. When a baby has stomach pain,
we put a few drops directly in the navel and we give the massage around the naval a few minutes, the pain is cured.
Oil works the same way.

Keep brandy-soaked cotton ball on your belly button – to ease menstrual pain and cramps

Sesame Oil is used for all types of joint pains. It is also known to strengthen bones. Many parents use in their
children every night at bedtime.

Use an equal amount of Mustard Oil And Ginger Oil For Upset Stomach, Bloating, Nausea and digestive problems.

Using Warm Ghee improves blood flow to the nervous system and also enhances the immunity system. It cures constipation and builds a strong digestive system. It gives relief from joint pain.

Thyme oil is anti-spasmodic, it helps relax your arteries and veins, lowering blood pressure and stress to your heart.
It may also help strengthen and tone your heart muscles. : As a diuretic, Thyme oil may help your body to remove excess water, salt and toxins from your body, helping with weight, blood pressure, digestion, and more.
: Thyme oil is an expectorant, which means it can help remove mucus from your airways and lungs.
: Thyme oil is approved by Germany’s Commission E in the treatment of bronchitis, whooping cough, and upper respiratory inflammation.

Remember Thyme oil is a powerful compound and should not be used directly on your skin, as this can cause sensitization
and irritation. It must first be diluted with a carrier oil (like olive oil, coconut oil, or almond oil)
Thymus Vulgaris Essential Oil 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade is what you look for.

Castor Oil can be used for knee pain – At night before bed, put 3 drops of Castor oil in your navel and spread
it 1.2cm around your navel.

Mustard oil – for tremors and lethargy, pain relief in your joints and dry skin – At night before bed, put
3 drops of mustard oil in your navel and spread it 1 and a half inches around your navel.

Why put oil in and around your belly button?

Your Navel can detect which veins have dried up and by putting oil, those nerves open them …
You can keep a small drip jar with the oil required next to your bed and place a few drops in your navel before
going to sleep. This will make it convenient to pour and avoid accidental spills.

WANTS VS NEEDS — understanding ourselves better

Wants and needs are two different words whose meanings are both well understood and also interchanged — depending on our desires and motivations.

At times, we talk about our needs and wants interchangeably, as though somehow, they are the same thing, mixing them up into one category.

Deconstructing the interplay between these words is key to better understanding ourselves.

In my opinion there is great value in distinguishing them from each other so as to set them up to serve the purposes they were created to serve.

” Simply put, a need is something that is essential to our survival. … Some of the needs we have are emotional needs such as the need for belonging, and the need to pursue our goals and dreams. Wants, on the other hand, are things that we would like to have, but that are not essential to our survival.”

Maslow’s hierarchy of needs

Biological and physiological needs: air, food, drink, shelter, warmth, touch, contact, sleep.

Safety needs: protection from elements, security, order, law, stability, and freedom from fear (protection from the violation of boundaries).

Love and belongingness needs: friendship, intimacy, affection, and love—which can be fulfilled by family, friends, romantic relationships, as well as work colleagues.

Esteem needs: achievements, personal mastery, interdependence, self-respect, and respect from others.

Self-actualization needs: realising personal potential, self-fulfilment, and actively seeking personal growth and experiences of the achievement of self-expression.

What are your wants and needs?

Do you feel that your want’s and needs are selfish?

Do you feel and think that you are not worthy to have your needs met?

Are you ready to reach you full potential? Reach out so I can assist you in taking that quantum leap forward in your life on all levels: mentally—physically—emotionally—spiritually—energetically.

Barking Dogs

“You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw rocks at every dog that barks.” Winston Churchill

Churchill is not talking about literal dogs but metaphorically. The example of dogs is used figuratively for distractions on the journey to our goals or destination.

The dogs are usually PEOPLE. People who will come along and BARK at us as we’re making our way toward our destination. When we are on our journey to fulfil our dream, trying to reach our goal or simply living out our purpose.

Churchill’s quotation implies several things.

It’s normal to encounter dogs on the way to our destination

Dogs can be a distraction to our purpose, goals and our dream

Dogs can be especially distracting when they bark

We’ll be tempted to stop and throw rocks at the barking dogs

But if we take the time to fight off ALL distractions, we’ll never reach our destination

We should choose wisely the distractions we will engage

Barking dogs are best ignored

However, we can also be that dog that distracts us from moving forward. Procrastination, fear, self-doubt to mention a few that sabotage/block us from achieving our objectives.

In this case one should take notice of our INNER BARKS and take a deep dive within …

Be inspired, take charge of your life and be happy.

The Joy of Silence

In a world full of worry, more people are seeking quiet time and finding the joy in silence.

We find ourselves wishing for more time and yet we have many time saving devices in place to aid us. Yet we still feel rushed off our feet wishing for more hours in the day. Days, weeks and months fly by so quickly and before you know it, we are in the next year looking back, we might say “where has the time flown”.

However, the problem is not a shortage of time – it is an overload of everything else. There are many books to read, TV shows to watch but we can only read one book at a time or watch one TV show at a time. We have multiplied everything but there is only one of us.

To enjoy your journey on earth, we need to work on minimising or stopping the continuous chatter about what we will never be able to read, watch, say and do, and start to think of how to enjoy the world within our boundaries. To focus on the things we can do, rather than the hundreds of things we cannot do.

Several studies have shown that just 10 minutes of quiet time a day can reduce stress, improve our physical and psychological health and improve our sleep patterns.

Quiet time helps the mind to recharge

We need to carve out time for ourselves, whether it is via a book, meditation, listening to music or enjoying the view from your window. A place where we are not craving, yearning, working, worrying or overthinking. The important thing is to switch off the buzzing in your mind.

A place where we are set to neutral and where we can just breathe, just be, just bathe in the simple contentment of being and not crave anything except what we already have. Life itself!

You may also find that with time you get to know what calms your mind most effectively.

How do you quieten your mind?

I AM

Whatever comes after “I AM” starts the creation process.

If you truly believe in what follows these two powerful words, then you are already shaping your life to follow. When they are negative words, then it is going to hurt your morale. If they are positive words, then they are going to give you strength and a boost of confidence.

The good thing about these two words is that you get to control the outcome. If you tell yourself that you are strong, you are powerful, and you are capable, then you have already taken the first step into creating a better life for yourself.

Having the physical power to do something and taking action is only half of the equation. The other half of the equation comes from believing in your power and strengths. In order to achieve your dreams, you must first believe in your dreams. You must have the confidence in yourself that you can actually achieve them. Without truly believing in your ability to achieve your dreams, you will never have the confidence needed to turn these dreams into a reality.

Of course everyone wants to live a life of happiness, but people struggle with this because they don’t know how. To live a happier life, you first need to understand what your values in life are. From there, you need to put your attention to your values, and you need to give yourself the reinforcements necessary to achieve these values. By saying “I AM,” you are confirming that you believe in yourself and that you can achieve anything. That is a reinforcement that will help you succeed. You are putting your thoughts, energy, and confidence into your values. When you combine all three of these, the combination is incredibly powerful.

The ultimate goal of life is to live a happiest and best life possible. By saying I AM, you are retraining your brain to recognize your true potential. Ignore what others think about you, and focus on what you think about yourself. Be the unique and amazing person that you are, never stop chasing your dreams, and never doubt your abilities. Doubt is only an emotion of being scared. Take risks, live your life, and be whoever and whatever you want to be. – Michael Bonnell

Rape survivors need to be heard.

How would you want to be treated if you went to someone for help? Give them the most compassion and unconditional love you can channel from your innermost being. That’s the best way to support them.

To shift from our current rape culture and into a culture of consent, we must change the mindless, go-to reactions that we have toward victims of sexual abuse.

Why is it common to ask, “Was she drunk?” Why do people inquire about what someone was wearing at the time of a sexual assault?

It’s common because society has taught us to judge instead of love. In a culture of consent, the mindset is different.

In a culture of consent, we know that it doesn’t matter if someone was drinking. No one deserves rape.

In a culture of consent, there is less blame and more compassion. Compassion is key when it comes to creating a culture of consent.

Compassion in a culture of consent means extending unconditional love to sexual assault survivors. We can no longer live as we are as a society. The time for change is now.

To implement this cultural shift, we can only start with ourselves, our thoughts, and our reactions toward rape survivors.

The following list is to help you take one major step in that direction.

44 Things to NEVER Say to a Rape Survivor

1. What were you wearing?
2. Were you drunk?
3. How did it happen? (Ask them if they are comfortable with sharing what happened. Listen mindfully and don’t oversteer their story. Respect how they share their story. Refrain from interrupting so they know they have the freedom to express themselves. This question is only necessary for law enforcement officials and healthcare professionals who are required to know the details in order to help the survivor.)
4. Did you scream?
5. Why didn’t you scream?
6. You really need to get a gun.
7. I know a self-defence class that you should go to.
8. Your outfit was very sexy.
9. How could that happen to you, again?
10. Did you say “no”?
11. Did you fight back?
12. You’ve already had sex, so, what’s the difference?
13. You’re a guy, you’re supposed to like it.
14. Rape is every guy’s dream. (A girl said this to me while I was chalking in NYC in 2015.)
15. How can a girl rape a boy?
16. Rape can’t happen during marriage.
17. There’s no use in crying about it.
18. You need to let go of your anger.
19. Are you sure it was rape?
20. Weren’t you dating?
21. Why didn’t you get a rape kit?
22. Have you had sex since?
23. You should have yelled “fire.”
24. Why haven’t you reported it?
25. I thought you liked him/her/them.
26. It’s your fault.
27. You shouldn’t have gone with them.
28. You were asking for it.
29. You attracted that.
30. You led them on.
31. That’s not rape.
32. That was sex. You could have avoided it.
33. You should have protected yourself.
34. You shouldn’t have been out late.
35. You shouldn’t have been drinking.
36. You shouldn’t have gone to that party.
37. That would never happen to me.
38. You’re smarter than that.
39. Stop putting yourself in situations like that.
40. It could be worse.
41. Get over it.
42. It’s not that big of a deal.
43. I hope you learned your lesson.
44. There are some things you could have done differently.

Instead of blaming or shaming someone who has been traumatised, hold back those thoughts. Focus only on how you can be a friend to them in their time of need. If they came to you for help, it means that they trusted you.
Sexual assault recovery can be catapulted when the rape survivor has a loving, supportive team of people who they can go to in times of need.
How can you create this type of safe space for the sexual assault survivors in your life? How can you create this safe space for yourself?
